Pay Attention to Your Direction

Do you want your business to get from ‘here’ to ‘there’?

When you’re on a new journey, ‘there’ should eventually become ‘here’ – your travel gets you from a place you’re familiar with to one of new interest.

If you’re a business owner who wants to grow your business, you’re on a new journey.

But a growth journey is no ordinary trip, and it requires a higher level of awareness because a growth journey involves new experiences, judgements, and decisions.

If you’re a business owner who has committed to a growth journey, consider these questions:

  • Am I ahead or behind my schedule?
  • Am I still stuck in my ‘here’?
  • What will get me closer to my ‘there’?

When a business owner can work ‘on their business’, these questions are front of mind.

Using the travelling analogy, when the owner is trapped working ‘in the business’ they drive without driver assistance or a navigator. Their success is dependent on their knowledge of roads already travelled.

When the owner is working ‘on the business’ they have a navigator or may take on the navigator role to ensure arrival at the destination.

If you’re a business owner on a growth journey, consider ‘who’s your navigator?’.
